Flybase is the source for genetic and molecular information on Drosophila. You can look up any fly gene and get all published (and some unpublished) data at your fingertips.
On FlyBase, you can see the rules which are meant to guide additions and changes to the nomenclature of Drosophila. These rules are not always followed.
